Kurd Stars Sport Project?

It is a formal assembly of sportsmen to participate in sport activities in London. As well as welcoming any societies, our aim is to encourage the Kurdish sportsmen to get together to integrate them with the British society and introduce them to other communities and cultures.

One of our objectives is to create a sporty, healthy, friendly environment and prevent them from any bad habits, such as drug problems and racism.

Finally, provide a guideline for our sportsmen to follow collectively and individually.
We would like to bring all sportsmen and sportswomen outside country together to participate in sports activities, and consequently introduce them to:

  • The Ministry of Sports and Youth www.mosy-krg.org at KRG (Kurdistan Regional Government) in Kurdistan of Iraq.
  • Kurdistan Olympics Committee.
  • Kurdistan Football Association (F.A.) www.Kurdistan-FA.com

Objectives?

The aim of this unique project is very straightforward:

  • It will unite all the Kurdish athletes and Kurdish sports fans around the world and hence to facilitate collaboration with the sport authority at KRG in order to select their candidates to take part in the Olympics or international competitions and tournaments representing our homeland 'Kurdistan'. This will help mixing with other cultures and integrate with different societies.
  • It’s a great opportunity for adults and youths to learn football in a professional manner.
  • Concentrate on sports; build a positive environment network for our members and our fans in London and outside (especially the youths).
  • Encourage our members to get academic knowledge from the universities and courses in sports.
  • Find sport's experts such as coaches to send them to Iraqi Kurdistan to apply their expertise they have gained aboard on Kurdish athletes.

What has been achieved so far?

  • Initially we have started with a Football team, as it is the most popular of all the sports; we have managed to establish an official team and registered it with the London Football Association in September 2005.
  • One of Kurd Stars' members (Rawand Nawroly) designed the official emblem of Kurdistan FA).
  • March 2007: Kurd Stars sport project won football tournament called (ALL NATIONS FOOTBALL PROGRAMME) in London. Run by: The London Playing Fields FOUNDATION.
  • Kurd Stars won The Secretary of the Year 2007/08 (among 62 clubs).
In the 128th annual meeting ceremony of West End (London) A.F.A. League (established in 1881).
